Axolotl's HIE Physicians Benefit from New Electronic Prescription Management Features

Mountain View, CA, March 26, 2007 — Axolotl Corp. today released a new version of its Elysium product, with a focus on delivering Elysium E-Prescribing customers added value and ease of use. The release also includes a Health Alert distribution feature, the ability to display community-wide inpatient and emergency room visit details, and additional Clinical Messaging® capabilities.

Recognizing the importance of e-Prescribing and medication management in current and emerging health information exchanges (HIEs), Axolotl worked closely with a focus group of physicians, nurses, physician assistants, and nurse practitioners to define and implement a range of prescription management enhancements. The result is an easy-to-use, personalized prescription writer, with accurate de-duplicated medication history for interaction checking and seamless, bi-directional, electronic connections to retail pharmacies to deliver prescriptions and receive renewal requests.

Prescription Management
Many usability and efficiency enhancements have been made, including: improved management of "favorites"; enhanced drug search capability; and automated de-duplication and management of the med history on the Elysium Patient Summary. This release is fully certified with SureScripts V4 and in conjunction with Elysium's robust workflow management tools, completely automates the prescription renewal process, saving office staff time and improving prescription accuracy.

Health Alerts
Elysium now publishes and distributes health alerts to all Elysium users; electronic, fax, and hard copy recipients. Elysium Health Alerts have already demonstrated value in Public Health Departments for an outbreak of cryptosporidium which was reported to seventeen health districts in a five county region of the HealthBridge community in Cincinnati. Alerts can also be used for other educational purposes. This feature enhances Elysium's already robust and advanced public health automated disease reporting and notification capabilities.
