Electronic Prescription Writing

My staff and I are saving considerable time with the Elysium automatic prescription refill feature. Fielding prescription-related phone calls used to be very time consuming. With the prescription management system my staff simply looks up the patient and their prescription in Elysium and clicks refill—the system automatically checks for interactions and duplications with current drugs, checks that the refill is not premature and sends the online prescription to me for approval. I click an "Electronic Signature" button and it gets sent automatically via fax to the patients' pharmacy. The prescription is logged in the patients' online record and can be printed the next time the chart has to be pulled.

Elysium maintains a log of my patient's prescriptions allowing me to better prescribe for my patients. As many patients take multiple drugs and most drugs being to difficult for patients to remember by name, a complete list is critical. Elysium tracks what prescriptions my patients take and cautions me of interactions.

Elysium can be accessed from any computer or handheld with Web access, anytime—from my office, home, hospital, a hotel room etc. Anytime access to patient prescription information has allowed me to better care for my patients. When I am on call, I can easily look up patient information from my computer at home and effectively prescribe for our group's patients. Elysium Prescription has integrated with Elysium Workstation, a product that we have been using for several years to manage our clinical results. These two products are enabling us to build an online patient record in an easy step-by-step approach.
